Panjim:- As a part of nation-wide agitation against price rise and mismanagement of administration by the Modi led B.J.P. government, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee launched mass awareness campaign “MHARGAYECHO JAGOR ” today in six constituencies in Goa by meeting the citizens and educating them on how the present government has caused tremendous inflation and price rise thereby increasing the unemployment and poverty in the country.
Congress leaders started visiting house to house distributing pamphlets on how Congress tenure had economic stability and explaining people how Congress Government had controlled price rise of petroleum products despite international crude oil price were at all time high.
G.P.C.C. President Girish Chodankar along with GPCC Vice President Dharma Chodankar and Vishwanath Halarnkar led the Congress workers in launching the agitation in St. Cruz with Rudolf Fernandes, Victor Gonsalves, Shiny Olieveira, ZP Member along with other St. Cruz leaders while in St. Andre Block with Mohan Dhond, Tony Fernandes, Savio Monteiro, Anthony Alfonso, Devsurabhi Yaduvanshi along with various local leaders also joined.
In Panaji the workers were led by former Minister Smt. Sangeeta Parab, Shankar Kirlapalkar, Uday Madkaikar, Surendra Furtado, Menino D’cruz, Joel Andrade along with other leaders of Panjim.
Mr Elvis Gomes led the Mhargayecho Jagor in Madkai.
Local block Leaders of Mandrem and Siolim block also started the Jagor today.
The Congress workers enthusiastically participated in the house to house campaign. GPCC president Girish Chodankar said people responded very positively and participated in our program and were seen expressing anguish against BJP’s ‘Acche Din’ promise. Most of the people said they are struggling to feed meals to the family members. He said this program will continue in all 40 constituencies in next 7 days and our party functionaries will try to reach out to maximum people.
