Goa Union of Journalists condoles death of photojournalist Andrew Pegado

Panaji: The Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) condoles the untimely demise of photojournalist Andrew Pegado.

Andrew breathed his last on Sunday, following a prolonged illness. He was undergoing treatment in the UK. He was 50.

Andrew started his career in photography at a very young age in the 90s. He was a regular freelance contributor to Herald, The Navhind Times, Goa Plus, Goa Times (The Times of India), Goa Today, Gomantak Times and several other publications and magazines.

As an event photographer, Pegado was closely associated with MTV, Channel V, IIFA (International Indian Film Academy Awards), Lakme Fashion Week, International Film Festival of India-Goa, wedding shoots etc.

Among his professional colleagues, Andrew was known as a smiling photographer. He was the founder member of the Photo Journalists’ Association Goa (PJAG).

The Goa Union of Journalists conveys its deepest sympathies to the family.
