Pernem: Staff handling the AI camera system at Patradevi clarified that no fines are being issued through the digital checking process. According to the staff, the system is only used to inform vehicle owners whether documents such as PUC and other vehicle papers are valid or invalid.
They stated that some people have misunderstood the process and spread messages claiming that fines are being imposed. “It is not in our hands to issue fines. We only inform the check post about the status of the documents. The system is also useful in case of any future incident involving the vehicle,” the staff explained.
Officials also mentioned that a helpline number has been provided at the location for public assistance and clarification.
