Amit Patkar launches ‘Super Me – Yes to Life, Yes to Help’ drug awareness campaign at Sarvodaya High School, Curchorem
Curchorem, October 27, 2026: Emphasising the need to protect children from the growing threat of drug abuse and prioritise their mental well-being, former Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar today launched the “Super Me – Yes to Life, Yes to Help” awareness initiative at Sarvodaya High School, Curchorem.
The initiative aims to empower students to make informed choices, protect their aspirations and seek help without fear, hesitation or stigma. It seeks to build awareness about drug abuse, mental well-being and the importance of creating a supportive environment where children feel safe discussing their concerns.
The programme featured an insightful session by Dr. Shankar Komarpant, an awareness skit presented by Shri Chandreshwar Kala Maharaj Sangh, and an interactive presentation to engage students and encourage open conversations about substance abuse and the importance of seeking timely support.
Speaking on the occasion, Amit Patkar stressed that the responsibility of safeguarding the younger generation must extend beyond election seasons and remain a priority throughout the year.
“Goa’s future is sitting in our classrooms. Protecting our children requires consistent action, awareness and collective responsibility. Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe environment, pursue their dreams and seek help whenever they need it. Through Super Me, we want to encourage children to make informed choices and ensure they understand that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness,” Patkar said.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to the school management, principal, teachers and staff of Sarvodaya High School for their support in initiating the campaign and helping bring this important conversation to students.
Patkar stated that the initiative would be extended to schools across the Curchorem constituency, with parents and teachers joining the conversation in the next phase. He emphasised that preventing drug abuse requires a sustained effort involving families, educational institutions and society at large.
He appealed to parents, teachers and citizens to actively participate in the initiative, listen to children without judgement, encourage open conversations and create an environment where young people can seek guidance and support without fear or shame.
“Every child deserves someone who will stand up for their future. Protecting our children is not just the responsibility of schools or parents; it is a collective responsibility. Together, we must work towards a healthier, safer and drug-free future for Goa,” Patkar added.
Super Me – Yes to Life, Yes to Help is a call for collective action to safeguard the dreams, dignity and future of Goa’s children.
Yes to Life. Yes to Help. Together for a Drug-Free Future.
