Goa will host a week-long series of major Asian Deaf and sign language gatherings from October 5 to 11, 2026, bringing together Deaf leaders, youth and women representatives, sign language ...interpreters and organisations from across Asia. Participants from India, South Korea, the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, Bhutan, Laos, Mongolia, Thailand and Nepal are expected to attend programmes including the 12th WFDRA Youth Camp, Deaf Asia Conference, 38th FDRA Representative Meeting, youth and women section meetings, and the WASLI Asia Conference 2026. The events will focus on Deaf rights, leadership, accessibility, inclusion, sign language development, interpreter education and regional cooperation. An Inclusive Run featuring 3 km, 5 km and 7 km categories will also be held at Miramar Circle on October 11. The programmes are being organised by the Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities and the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa, in association with the All India Federation of the Deaf and Goa Association of the Deaf.Show More
