New Vaddem, Dabolim, July 31: In a major housing welfare initiative, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday distributed 120 Goa Housing Board allotment letters to beneficiaries at New Vaddem, Dabolim, providing permanent housing security to families who had been awaiting regularisation for several years.
The allotment drive benefited numerous deserving families, including municipal sanitation workers who have served the Vasco region for decades while facing uncertainty over housing. The initiative is aimed at providing them with secure and regularised homes, bringing an end to a long-standing housing issue.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that ensuring every deserving citizen has a roof over their head is a key priority of the government. He stated that providing permanent housing is not only about infrastructure but also about restoring dignity, security, and a better future for families.
“Our Government is committed to ensuring that no deserving family is left behind. Providing regularised housing is about giving people the dignity and security they deserve while creating better opportunities for future generations,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister also acknowledged the contribution of municipal sanitation workers, describing them as frontline workers whose dedication to public service deserves recognition and support.
The distribution of the allotment letters marks another step in the State Government’s housing welfare efforts and is expected to provide long-term relief and stability to the beneficiary families. The initiative reflects the government’s focus on improving access to secure housing and enhancing the quality of life for citizens across Goa.
