Arvind Kejriwal Slams BJP Over Lawlessness in Goa; BJP Goa Retorts, AAP’s Amit Palekar Hits Back

Panaji: Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Goa government, alleging a total collapse of law and order in the state. In a post on X, Kejriwal said that Goa is witnessing an alarming rise in violent incidents, including murders, shootings, and robberies, calling it “a complete breakdown of governance under BJP rule.”

Kejriwal cited several recent cases — the murder of a Goan opposing hill cutting, shootings linked to illegal sand extraction, a youth allegedly beaten inside a police station, and multiple killings in Saligao — asserting that “BJP has turned Goa into a lawless state.”

Responding to his remarks, BJP Goa hit back strongly, addressing Kejriwal as “ignorant” and accusing him of commenting without knowing the facts. The party said Kejriwal had “ruined Delhi” during his tenure and was now “destroying Punjab,” pointing to issues like drug abuse, corruption, and rising crime in AAP-ruled states. The BJP Goa post also mocked Kejriwal for allegedly enjoying a “Sheeshmahal” in Punjab paid for by taxpayers’ money and advised him to “stop wasting time commenting on our state.”

In retaliation, AAP Goa President Amit Palekar countered BJP Goa’s statement, saying, “When facts scare you, abuse becomes your language.” Palekar accused the BJP government in Goa of presiding over rampant corruption, land and job scams, drug issues on beaches, and shielding mafias instead of protecting citizens.

He added that under AAP, Delhi has achieved “world-class schools, Mohalla Clinics, free electricity, and transparent governance,” while Punjab is “fighting drugs and mafias head-on.” Palekar further remarked, “If BJP spent half the energy fixing Goa as they do attacking AAP, Goans wouldn’t be leaving the state in search of jobs,” concluding that “Goa has turned into Mirzapur under BJP rule.”

The heated exchange on X highlights the intensifying political confrontation between AAP and BJP over Goa’s deteriorating law and order situation.
