AAP Leader Siddhesh Bhagat Resigns, Cites Lack of Goan Representation and Delhi Interference

Panaji: AAP leader Siddhesh Bhagat has tendered his resignation from the party, stating that he does not wish to comment further on internal party matters. Bhagat said he gained valuable experience during his association with the Aam Aadmi Party and formally communicated his resignation via WhatsApp to party leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi and Valmiki Naik.

Speaking after his resignation, Bhagat said he would consult the people of the Navelim constituency before taking a decision on his future political course.

Launching a strong criticism of the party’s functioning in Goa, Bhagat alleged that Goans are not given priority within the AAP. He claimed that leaders coming from Delhi dictate decisions for the party in the state, leaving little room for local voices. “I can’t bear it anymore. We have repeatedly told them that their model does not work in Goa, but they were never bothered to understand or listen to the ground realities of the state,” he said.

Bhagat’s resignation is seen as a setback for the party in South Goa, particularly in Navelim, where he has been active in local political issues.
