Panaji: Trinamool Congress Party’s Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra on Friday said that the BJP cannot be trusted on farm bills till they actually repeal it in the upcoming session of Parliament.

Addressing a press conference in Panaji, Moitra said that no one trusts BJP as “their left hand speaks something and right hand says something.”

She said that the announcement by Prime minister Narendra Modi to repeal farm laws was “victory of the farmers in the country.”

“Actually, till the farm laws are actually repealed in the Parliament, we can’t say anything,” she commented.

She recalled how BJP ministers were defending the same laws when TMC had demanded that they should be taken back in the Parliament.
Moitra said that the farmers had to protest on the road for more than one and half years for government to come up with this announcement.

She said that the central government has made this announcement considering the upcoming election in Uttar Pradesh and specially 70 seats in the Western Uttar Pradesh.
