Panaji: The District Magistrate of North Goa has notified a temporary road closure and traffic diversion on the New Patto Bridge leading towards Panaji city to undertake repair work of a damaged expansion joint. The diversion will remain in effect from February 20 to February 22, 2026.
As per the notification, two-way vehicular movement on the New Patto Bridge (Riverside) will be permitted during morning hours. Additionally, a reverse flow of traffic will be implemented on the Old Patto Bridge. Vehicles entering the city will be allowed to take a left turn near Old Titan (close to Kaju Darbar) and proceed towards Panaji via the Old Patto Bridge.
Motorists are advised to take a right turn near SOHO Club and continue via Umesh Keni Petrol Pump to exit onto D.B. Road. Meanwhile, vehicles exiting the city from Church Square will not be permitted to proceed towards the Old Patto Bridge and will instead be diverted towards Mala Bridge for exiting Panaji.
The Traffic Police have urged commuters to cooperate and follow the diversion plan to ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles during the repair period.
