Panjim, Goa: Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited (VISL) convened the Tripartite Safety Committee Meeting (TSCM) 2026–27 for Block 1 – Bicholim Mineral Block, under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), Western Zone (Goa Region). The meeting brought together senior DGMS officials, mine leadership and worker representatives to deliberate on strengthening safety standards, addressing operational challenges and advancing a culture of continuous safety improvement across mining operations.
The meeting marked the second Tripartite Safety Committee Meeting since mining operations at the Bicholim Mineral Block resumed in 2024, reflecting the continued engagement between regulatory authorities, management and the workforce towards strengthening safety practices. The forum facilitated constructive dialogue on operational safety, vigilance, adoption of best practices and strengthening employee participation in safety processes.
The TSCM was attended by Shri Bipul Bihari Satiar, Deputy Director General of Mines Safety, Western Zone, Nagpur; Shri Ramesh Walikar, Director of Mines Safety, Goa Region; Shri Balakrishna Padarthi, Director of Mines Safety (Mech.), Western Zone, Nagpur; Shri Arka Somayajulu D. Dhulipala, Director of Mines Safety (Elect.), Western Zone, Nagpur; Shri Deepak Kumar Chandramukhi, DDMS, Goa Region; Ms Anamika Jha, CEO – Iron Ore Business, VISL; and Shri Dhirajkumar Jagdish, Dy CEO – Iron Ore Goa, along with senior officials, representatives from the Workers Union and other stakeholders.
