Panaji: Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik has submitted a representation to the Secretary of the Goa Legislature Secretariat seeking the immediate cancellation of the ongoing direct recruitment process initiated through Advertisement Nos. LA/Admn./2026/562, LA/Admn./2026/563 and LA/Admn./2026/564 dated 1st June 2026. The advertisements invite applications for several posts, including Under Secretary, Section Officer, Reporter, Public Relations Officer, Stenographer Grade-II, Driver and Multi-Tasking Staff. The memorandum was submitted to Legislature Secretary Namrata Ulman by Prabhav Naik along with social worker Dattaraj Pai Fondekar and Prakash Shetkar at Porvorim. In his representation, Prabhav Naik stated that Goa has already established independent recruitment bodies such as the Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC) and the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) to ensure transparent, merit-based and uniform recruitment. He pointed out that these institutions were created to inspire public confidence and eliminate apprehensions regarding fairness in government recruitment.Prabhav Naik expressed surprise over the decision of the Legislature Secretariat to undertake direct recruitment instead of referring the vacancies to the appropriate recruitment agencies. He maintained that posts falling within the jurisdiction of the GSSC should be routed through the Commission, while higher-level posts should be filled through the GPSC in accordance with established recruitment practices. He further noted that the issue assumes greater significance as the Goa Staff Selection Commission was recently praised for its transparent recruitment process during Goa Statehood Day celebrations. According to him, bypassing the established recruitment mechanism sends a contradictory message and raises legitimate concerns among unemployed youth seeking equal opportunities in government service.Demanding immediate corrective action, Prabhav Naik urged the Goa Legislature Secretariat to withdraw the advertisements and scrap the present recruitment process. He called for all vacancies to be referred to the GSSC and GPSC so as to uphold transparency, fairness and public confidence in the recruitment system while ensuring that deserving candidates receive equal opportunities through an independent and credible selection process.
