Margao – Madganvcho Awaaz and Youth Leader Prabhav Naik, has submitted a comprehensive set of Legislative Assembly Questions (LAQs) highlighting urgent civic and developmental concerns impacting Margao. These submissions reflect growing public dissatisfaction with the state of governance and planning in Goa’s commercial capital.

The LAQs include critical queries on the status and vision behind the Margao Master Plan 2041, the proposal to commence Smart City works, as well as halted recruitments and increased fees by the Margao Municipal Council. Madganvcho Awaaz has flagged serious concerns over the lack of transparency, inadequate public consultation, and questionable financial justifications on these fronts.

Another LAQ draws attention to the neglected state of Lohia Maidan, Margao’s historic monument and seeks details on its development, preservation, and upkeep. A separate question demands clarity on the long-pending upgrade of the South Goa District Hospital to tertiary care status, which is vital to ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for the region.

In addition to the LAQs, a Zero Hour Mention has been proposed urging the establishment of a Monument honouring Eminent Madganvkars, a long-overdue tribute to the city’s legacy in literature, art & culture, sports, social service, and politics. A Calling Attention Motion has also been filed, seeking a comprehensive Rescue Plan for Margao, which continues to suffer from urban decay, illegalities, traffic mismanagement, and crumbling public infrastructure.

All these issues were discussed in detail with Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai, who acknowledged their relevance and urgency. He assured Madganvcho Awaaz that he would raise the concerns in the upcoming session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, said Prabhav Naik.

“Madganvcho Awaaz remains committed to ensuring Margao’s rightful development through people-centric advocacy and sustained accountability from our public representatives,” added Naik.
