HDFC Bank Expands Saving Accounts Offerings with ‘Max for Seniors’ and ‘Max for Her’

HDFC Bank, India’s leading private sector bank, today launched two new savings accounts variants – ‘Max for Seniors’ and ‘Max for Her’, offering a host of tailored benefits for Senior Citizens and Women, respectively. These segmented product variants are being offered under the Bank’s flagship Savings Max account, one of the most preferred entrylevel savings accounts.

The recent PIB reports# indicate that India’s senior citizen population is projected to reach approximately 230 million by 2036, accounting for nearly 15% of the total population. Additionally, women currently hold 39.2% of all bank accounts, contributing to 39.7% of total deposits. Max for Seniors and Max for Her have been designed to cater to the evolving needs of these customer segments and include several industry-first features such as cyber fraud cover, hospitalization cover up to Rs. 1 Lakh and many more.

Key benefits* presented under the new offerings are: Max for Seniors is a banking program tailored for senior citizens, offering comfort, safety, and better returns. It includes Cyber Insurance Cover for digital fraud protection up to Rs 25,000, and FD-like higher returns on surplus savings with the Auto Sweep facility. Seniors also get an additional 0.5% interest on FDs, making their savings work harder. For convenience, the program offers doorstep banking facility and complimentary airport lounge access. To ensure financial security, there is Personal Accidental Death Cover on the Debit Card up to Rs. 3.19 Cr. Additionally, there’s a waiver of AMC for the 1st year on the Demat Account.

Max for Her is a banking program designed exclusively for women, offering a range of lifestyle and financial benefits. Members get lifestyle vouchers from their favorite brands, along with a complimentary health check-up and complimentary airport lounge access. It also includes FD-like higher returns on surplus savings through an Auto Sweep facility, so your idle money works harder for you. For added security, the program provides Personal Accidental Death Cover on the Debit Card up to Rs. 3.19 Cr, plus Accidental Death Insurance Cover of up to Rs. 10 L on the account. You also get 50% off on lockers.
