Panaji: Cumbharjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai has strongly opposed the demand made by Viresh Borkar to scrap Section 39(A) of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act, asserting that the provision will not be scrapped under any circumstances.
Faldessai expressed full support to TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, stating that projects cleared under Section 39(A) would boost development in villages and generate employment opportunities for locals.
He said opposing such development initiatives in rural areas is unnecessary and counterproductive. While adding that he is not aware of the exact reasons behind Borkar’s protest, Faldessai reiterated that Section 39(A) will not be scrapped at any cost.
