CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Urges Goans to Participate in Special Electoral Roll Revision Drive

Panaji: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has highlighted the significance of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll, describing it as a landmark democratic exercise for Goa being conducted after more than two decades — the last such revision having taken place in 2002.

Dr. Sawant emphasized that the current SIR is crucial to ensuring that voter rolls are accurate, comprehensive, and up to date. He stated that a correct and transparent electoral roll forms the very foundation of free and fair elections, which are vital to the health of democracy.

The Chief Minister also shared that he personally filled his Enumeration Form as part of the SIR process, setting an example for others to follow. Urging all Goans — particularly the youth and first-time voters — to take active part in the revision, Dr. Sawant said that their participation is not merely a procedural step, but an act that strengthens and empowers democracy.
