Margao: Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik has submitted a detailed representation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, urging the inclusion of key public welfare and identity-centric initiatives in the forthcoming Budget 2026–2027. The memorandum emphasizes the urgent need for strategic investments in healthcare infrastructure, social support mechanisms, and the preservation of Goa’s historical legacy.

Naik has strongly advocated for substantial budgetary allocation to make the South Goa District Hospital fully functional with advanced, life-saving facilities. He called for the establishment of a dedicated Neuro Unit, a fully operational Cath Lab, and the deployment of advanced life-support ambulances to handle critical emergencies. Strengthening tertiary healthcare in South Goa, he stated, would reduce the burden on Goa Medical College and minimize dependence on costly private hospitals.

Highlighting the hardships faced by Goans who travel outside the State for medical and professional needs, Naik also demanded provision for the construction of Goa Bhavan at Vashi, Mumbai, on the land already acquired by the Government. He noted that hundreds of patients visit Mumbai annually for cancer treatment and other specialized procedures, while many youth travel for visa formalities and employment-related requirements. A dedicated Goa Bhavan would provide affordable accommodation and essential support services during such exigencies.

Madganvcho Awaaz further urged the Government to formally institutionalize and adequately fund the commemoration of historic days that define Goa’s unique identity and struggle. These include Goa Revolution Day (18th June), Goa Liberation Day, Goa Opinion Poll Day (16th January), and Goa Statehood Day, among others. He stressed that these observances must go beyond symbolic ceremonies and be backed by structured educational, cultural, and youth-oriented programs.

Naik also proposed that the Budget earmark dedicated funds for birth centenary celebrations of eminent Goans who have shaped the State’s political, social, and cultural trajectory. Institutional recognition of such personalities, he said, would inspire future generations and strengthen collective pride in Goa’s rich heritage.

Concluding, Prabhav Naik stated that Budget 2026–2027 offers a crucial opportunity to invest not only in physical infrastructure but also in healthcare security, social welfare, and the safeguarding of Goa’s historical consciousness. He expressed hope that the Government would give due and favourable consideration to these proposals in the larger interest of the people of Goa.
