Panaji: In a major development in the Birch by Romeo Lane fire incident in Anjuna, Goa, the Rohini Court in Delhi on Wednesday refused to grant interim protection to absconding accused Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra. The brothers had approached the court seeking transit anticipatory bail, but the plea was strongly opposed by the Goa Police. The matter has now been posted for further hearing tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Ajay Gupta, identified as the third owner linked to the nightclub, was produced before a magistrate in Delhi by the Goa Police team stationed there. Following his medical examination, he will be escorted to Goa for custodial procedures and further interrogation.

Investigators have also uncovered a significant lead: the Luthra brothers reportedly booked flight tickets to Thailand through the MakeMyTrip platform at 1:17 AM on December 7—precisely when Goa Police and Fire Services were engaged in firefighting operations and rescuing people trapped inside the nightclub. This discovery is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing probe as authorities continue to trace the movements of the absconding accused.
