Panaji: Aam Aadmi Party leader Amit Palekar challenged the Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane for a debate on irregularities in the health sector recruitment.

The Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane denied the AAP’s allegations that there have been irregularities in the health sector recruitment. He stated that the matter is subjudice and all the jobs were given on merit.

Reacting to it Palekar said, “I challenge Vishwajeet Rane to select the venue and forum to debate irregularities in the health sector recruitment. I am prepared to provide evidences of scams in the health sector”.

While addressing the media on Thursday Palekar said, “Every citizen is entitled to government jobs and therefore they should be given on merit. Government jobs aren’t the government’s property that they can hand out to their MLAs. Every Goan who is on merit should be given government jobs”.
He further said, “A few months ago, the CM announced 10 thousand jobs ahead of the election and has failed to deliver. Now, he announced 30000 jobs in the next five years. The BJP government is a scam company. Even the HC took the cognizance of this job scam. It is hight time that people come forward and ask difficult questions to its government”.

“Although there are video evidences of the scam, CM Sawant has not taken any action and has not uttered a word. This shows he is scared of the Health Minister and also afraid of losing his seat in Sakhali”, he added.

Earlier Palekar had exposed the BJP’s major job scam in the health, PWD, IPHB and Food and Drugs department. He had alleged that no process has been followed during recruitment and that people have been appointed before appointment letters are issued.

He had also claimed that 95 per cent of the jobs were given to people from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s Sakhali constituency and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane’s Valpoi constituency.
