Panaji: Aam Aadmi Party Goa unit President Adv. Amit Palekar on Wednesday called on OBCs to boycott the upcoming Panchayat elections.

Additionally, Palekar called on OBC ministers in the BJP government to resign if they have self-respect since their government failed to provide justice for OBCs.

While addressing the press conference at party’s Panaji office he asserted that the BJP government has failed to protect the rights of OBCs. He said, “We should therefore unite to fight for the rights of OBCs and to fight against the BJP government’s selfish motives”.

“From the year 2013 Government has failed to complete the census of OBC. OBC Commission has failed in its duty to compile data thus ignoring and giving least importance to more than 50 percent of Goa’s population which comprises of OBC”, he added.

Palekar said, “The BJP government is now asking for more time to hold Panchyat elections. In its order, the HC clearly stated that the state government had postponed the Panchayat elections a fourth time”.

Adding he said, “There is no doubt that the BJP government is scared of the Panchyat elections mandate and that’s why they are looking for a variety of reasons to postpone the elections”.

Also present were AAP Chief Spokesperson Rajdeep Naik, AAP leader Upendra Goankar and AAP leader Nonu Naik.
