Gurugram. BMW India has launched the much-awaited new BMW 7 Series range in the country. With this, the BMW flagship sedan will be available in petrol and all-electric powertrains. The all-electric performance model, the BMW i7 M70 will also be available for customers in India, making it the most powerful BMW 7 Series of all time.
The new 7 was unveiled by superstar Ranveer Singh. The exclusive launch, crafted as a tribute to dedication, brought together two big icons – one at the pinnacle of modern luxury and the other at the pinnacle of cinematic excellence. On this occasion, Ranveer Singh was introduced as the Brand Voice for BMW India – a collaboration that brings a powerful, contemporary resonance to the commanding authority of the 7.
Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, said, “The new BMW 7 Series is more than our flagship sedan – it is our ultimate statement of modern luxury. It moves the leaders, changemakers and visionaries who are shaping tomorrow. Every detail has been crafted around one idea: those who have reached the pinnacle deserve an experience to match. The new 7 Series sets a benchmark, whether you choose to take the wheel or be driven. It is the new face of the BMW Luxury Class, while offering an early glimpse into technologies that will shape the Neue Klasse era. And with our Power of Choice philosophy, customers can choose from dynamic combustion engines to advanced electric mobility. Because true luxury is not about limiting choices – it is about expanding them. With the new 7, luxury doesn’t end with the drive; it begins there.”
Developed with passion and designed to perfection, the BMW 7 Series sedan has established itself as an innovation leader and technological pioneer around the world since it first took to the stage in 1977. Each generation has brought fresh impetus to its era – from groundbreaking safety functions and revolutionary operating concepts to digital worlds that set new standards.
In addition to the 7 Series, the new BMW i7 will also now be locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai. With this, India becomes the only other country apart from Germany where the i7 is locally produced. The new BMW i7 M70 will be available as a completely built-up unit.

The monolithic design of the new BMW 7 Series sedan continues in the car’s flanks. Here, the new design language is revealed in features including a character line extending from the front apron over the door sills and into the rear. This fine detail, precise and sophisticated in its execution, gives the sedan even greater stylistic appeal. The new line lends the BMW 7 Series an almost boattail-like character from a rear three-quarter view and imbues it with extra visual length and elegance. The new aluminium satinated exterior line adds to the luxury appeal. The newly designed door handles on the BMW 7 Series are integrated flush to the doors in classical handle recesses, enhancing the clean and reduced exterior look. The rear of the new BMW 7 Series Sedan replicates the clear and reduced design applied elsewhere.
BMW Individual CraftedClarity glass applications can also be found in the newly designed centre console – for the start/stop button, gear selector lever and volume control button. Exclusive materials in the interior – from leather and Alcantara surfaces to woods, crystal glass and metal accents – create a modern yet luxurious ambience. The new lighting concept inside the BMW 7 Series Sedan greets the driver with a harmonious, immersive experience adapted to personal preferences. An array of light elements generates soft, evenly spread and diffuse illumination with a wrap-around effect, the sophisticated, modern design creating a pleasant and exclusive ambience inside the car. The welcome light animation that unfolds outside the car continues seamlessly in the interior, laying on a neatly composed overall choreography of illumination, sound elements and personalised settings. The integrated cup holder is illuminated, while the integrated smartphone tray offering inductive charging with up to 15 watts of power is trimmed in soft Alcantara and has a magnetic holder that keeps mobile phones securely in place.
