Panaji, 15 March 2026: Nine-year-old Srisha Suvarnasingh Polle from Podwal, Corjuem in Aldona has once again made her village proud by successfully crossing the iconic Mandovi River on March 15, 2026.

A student of Shiksha Niketan School, Srisha achieved this remarkable feat at the young age of nine, marking her second successful crossing of the Mandovi River. She had earlier completed the same challenge when she was just eight years old and studying in Standard II, showcasing exceptional courage, determination and swimming skills at such a young age.

What makes her achievement even more inspiring is that Srisha did not receive any specialised private training. She developed her swimming skills through a swimming camp organised by her school, where she nurtured her passion and confidence in the water.

The event saw the participation of 32 swimmers and was conducted under the guidance of coach Ajay Naik along with a team of coaches, who mentored and supervised the young participants during the challenging river crossing.

Srisha’s achievement has brought immense pride not only to her family but also to the entire Corjuem and Aldona community. She is the daughter of Suvarnasingh Ramakant Polle and Rakhee Suvarnasingh Polle, who have been widely appreciated for encouraging and supporting her passion for swimming.

The people of Corjuem–Aldona have congratulated Srisha for her outstanding accomplishment, stating that her courage and perseverance at such a young age are an inspiration to many children.

The community has wished her continued success and hopes that she will achieve many greater milestones in the future.
