Panaji: The Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Goa, has been conferred the prestigious SKOCH Gold Award 2025 for its initiative “Improving Childhood Nutrition through Anganwadi Services.”
The award recognises the state’s efforts to ensure every child receives proper nutrition and care at the grassroots level. Officials said the achievement reflects the commitment of the department under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a healthier and empowered generation.
Director Jyoti Desai, along with Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), played a key role in implementing the programme.
The department said the recognition will further strengthen its resolve to promote child well-being, gender equality, and inclusive development in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
