Panaji: The Crime Branch arrested one Kishor Mangesh Divkar, a 41 years old Arpora resident for allegedly peddling drugs in the tourist populated Anjuna beach belt, which is currently witnessing a series of parties.
According to the police, the alleged peddler was found in possession of a transparent polythene packet containing 10 brown tablets suspected to be psychotropic substance Ecstasy, weighing 4.445 grams.
Another man identified as Gurudas Jyotiba Bhatkande, 33 years old from Siolim was found in possession of a transparent polythene packet containing 9 tablets, 5 brown and 4 pink, suspected to be Ecstasy tablets, weighing 3.944 grams. Both raids were conducted in the early hours of Tuesday and the arrested accused are sent to police custody for interrogation.
The combined weight of the seized substances is 8.389 grams, estimated to be worth Rs 1 lakh
