Panaji: The Goa Police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for the upcoming IRONMAN 70.3 Goa 2025, scheduled on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Several key roads across Panaji, Ribandar, Miramar, Dona Paula, and Cortalim will remain closed or partially restricted to ensure the smooth conduct of the international triathlon event.
Key Road Closures (3:00 AM onwards):
Ribandar Causeway (Ribandar Patto to Divja Circle)
Riverside lane (RHS) of D.B. Marg (Divja Circle to Miramar Circle)
Miramar beachside lane (RHS) from Miramar Circle to NIO Circle
RHS lane from NIO Circle to Raj Bhavan
Partially Open Routes:
LHS lane from Goa Science Centre to NIO Circle
NIO Circle to Raj Bhavan main gate
Sharayu Toyota Showroom and Zuari Bridge Up Ramp, Cortalim (for vehicles heading to Panaji)
Cortalim & New Flyover Area:
One lane of NH66 (Panaji to Margao direction) from the start to the end of the new Cortalim Flyover will remain closed between 3:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The opposite lane (Margao to Panaji) will stay open for traffic.
Traffic between Panaji and Margao will be diverted via Kesarval Motels Junction, while Margao to Panaji traffic will move through Sharayu Toyota Showroom → Santrant Slope → Cortalim Cross → Cortalim Circle → Up Ramp, Cortalim.
Diversions for Heavy Vehicles:
Heavy vehicles and route buses from Titan Junction, Verna, towards Verna Industrial Estate–Borim will be rerouted on alternate paths during the event.
Local Resident Access:
A dedicated car lane will be provided from Miramar Residency to Marriott Lane, with internal access via La Campala roads. Two-way traffic will be allowed on certain sections of D.B. Marg and NH66 to facilitate local movement.
Diversion Routes:
Old Goa–Ribandar to Panaji: via Chimbel → Merces → Atal Setu
Panaji to Ribandar: via Mala → St. Cruz → Merces → Ribandar
Caranzalem to Panaji: via Caculo Mall → St. Inez → 18th June Road
Merces to Margao: via Old Siridao–Goa Velha–Agassaim route
IRONKIDS Event (Saturday, November 8):
Miramar lanes (Hotel Vivanta to Science Centre) will remain closed from 3:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with limited two-way movement allowed between Science Centre and Dona Paula Circle.
General Instructions:
Parking and stopping will be strictly prohibited along the race routes. Emergency vehicles will be provided clear access. Motorists are urged to plan travel in advance, follow diversion signs, and cooperate with traffic authorities to avoid inconvenience.
