Margao: Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik expressed heartfelt gratitude to South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes for facilitating the Advance Cardiac Life Saving Ambulance under the MPLAD Fund for the people of South Goa. He stated that the ambulance will strengthen emergency healthcare response and provide timely medical assistance to patients in critical situations.

Prabhav Naik said that healthcare infrastructure in South Goa requires urgent strengthening and once again appealed to Health Minister Vishwajit Rane to give top priority towards granting tertiary care status to South Goa District Hospital and making it a fully functional advanced healthcare institution for the benefit of all patients.

He stated that Madganvcho Awaaz has consistently raised concerns regarding poor healthcare facilities at SGDH and has repeatedly demanded establishment of a fully functional Cath Lab, Neuro Surgery Unit, upgraded ICU facilities, and enhanced emergency care services at the hospital.

Prabhav Naik further highlighted that several patients and their family members are facing difficulties due to the absence of proper online payment facilities at SGDH, causing inconvenience and hardship especially during medical emergencies. He urged the authorities to immediately streamline digital payment systems and patient-friendly services at the hospital.

He pointed out that after the unfortunate accidental death of Shirish Pai Kane, a memorandum signed by several prominent citizens of Margao was submitted to the Health Minister demanding immediate improvement in healthcare infrastructure, specialist treatment facilities, and emergency preparedness at SGDH.

Prabhav Naik added that while the new ambulance is a welcome and much-needed step, the Government must now act decisively to transform SGDH into a dependable tertiary care hospital equipped with modern medical facilities so that patients of South Goa are not forced to travel outside the district or state for critical treatment and specialised healthcare services.
