Margao – Welcome annoucement by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari of alloting ₹310.92 crores for Cuncolim Bypass. I appeal to Ministry of Road Transport to ensure that the alignment of the Bypass will not cause any damage to the exhisting residential houses & will not cause any major environmental damage stated Cuncolim MLA & Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.
Traffic Congestion at Cuncolim is a major issue. Movement of Heavy Vehicles through the main market area is causing serious danger to the pedestrians who visit the market. There are various Schools just few meters away from the exhisting Highway and vehicular traffic also causes serious threat to School Children, pointed Yuri Alemao.
I hope the Public Works Department as well as Ministry of Road Transport will prepare the new alignment of the Bypass by taking the local residents into confidence. I will see to it that the residential houses are not damaged at any cost due to the Bypass, said Yuri Alemao.
Government should also ensure that the Highway Expansion from Dandewado to Uskini Arc is taken up by taking locals into confidence. There should not be any threat to the exhisting houses, Yuri Alemao said.
I will keep a close watch on the process of land acquisition for the Bypass as well as Highway Expansion and ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the locals, assured Yuri Alemao.
