Panaji: The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has expelled ten members from its primary membership with immediate effect, citing alleged anti-party activities and involvement in efforts to undermine the party’s unity and leadership.
In a press release issued on June 16, RGP stated that it had taken serious note of an alleged conspiracy by certain members to split the party. According to the party, an unauthorized meeting was reportedly held in Margao where discussions took place regarding changing the party president and Core Executive Committee (CEC), taking control of the party, and attempting to gain control over the party’s football symbol.
The party further alleged that the expelled members had engaged in activities detrimental to the organization’s interests through social media posts, public comments, press conferences, and other actions that tarnished the party’s image, unity, and discipline.
The members expelled are Prashant Pagi (Canacona), Licio Roncon (St. Cruz), Manila Shirodkar (Siroda), Rahul Naik (Siroda), Premanand Gaude (Marcaim), Dagley Fernandes (Velim), Melvin Da Silva (Benaulim), Vishal Dessai (Quepem), Aditya Dessai (Curchorem), and Sanjan (Sam) Naik (Canacona).
RGP stated that the disciplinary action has been initiated in accordance with the party’s constitution and that the expelled members will cease to have any association with the party in any capacity with immediate effect.
