GPCC president, three MLAs meet Himachal CM; Discuss strengthening of Congress in Goa

Panaji: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who is on a private visit to Goa, advised the State government to reach out to each and every person in the State and win their trust again.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar along with three MLAs – Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Adv Carlos Alvares Fereira and Altone D’Costa met Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister at a hotel in South Goa, and discussions were held on strengthening the Congress in Goa.

A few months ago, Sukhu-led Congress scored a landslide victory in the assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh, and he was then sworn in as the Chief Minister. He has previously held many critical responsibilities in the Congress party and has vast experience in party building, and is known in the party as a good administrator. “We discussed with him how to take the Pradesh Congress to the grassroots and make the party strong again ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections,” said GPCC President Amit Patkar.

Patkar said Shri Sukhu advised us to bring the grassroots workers together and hold frequent meetings to listen to their grievances and urge them to raise their voices against the State government’s wrong decisions.

He has also assured to provide full assistance to the state Congress when needed.
“He advised us to go to people once more and win their trust. People are facing lots of issues due to inflation and corruption. He advised us to fight for people,” Patkar stated
