Panaji: All hopes and hype surrounding Goa’s float for the Republic Day parade today was met with utter disappointment.

When the float parade began in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, who was the chief guest at the 75th Republic Day making other dignitaries, all eyes were set on the float which was crafted by local artisans but alas.

Despite other states and Union Territories showcasing their floats, including those featuring various ministries, Goa’s float was noticeably absent yet again.

Ironically, the government had entrusted the tender to the same agency, yet, it became evident that they were unable to fulfill the responsibility for th second time in a row.

According to government’s press statement earlier, the float showcased the State’s progress with new statue of Lord Parshuram added besides the Yog Sethu bridge, Deep Aquatics and Tapaloka Yog Kshetra.
