GOAN POLICE OFFICERS MUST SHOW METTLE – PRABHAV NAIK

Margao: Dacoities, murders, gang wars, kidnappings and violent attacks have become frighteningly common in Goa. A state once celebrated for peace and harmony is now slipping into a dangerous state of lawlessness. Goans today fear for their safety even within the four walls of their own homes. It is time for Goan Police Officers to rise above political interference, reclaim their authority, and act decisively to save Goa before it is too late, stated Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.

Just yesterday, an attempt-to-murder incident at Station Road, Margao, now sadly turning into a den of anti-social elements has shocked citizens. On the same day, an attempted dacoity in Canacona further exposed the fragile security environment. Repeated cases of dacoities in Dona Paula, Mapusa and Bambolim, along with fatal road accidents, gang wars and kidnappings, have created widespread panic and shaken public confidence. People now live in constant fear, both outside their homes and even inside them, Naik said.

Naik stated that Goa Police has within its ranks many highly efficient, capable and courageous officers. Today, more than ever, they must come together, set aside all kinds of political and external pressure, and prepare a united, uncompromising action plan. The police force must assert its independence and act with firmness to restore law and order.

He strongly appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and ensure that valuable items such as gold ornaments are secured in safe bank lockers. The current situation has increased the vulnerability of both homes and banks. Naik also urged the Government to immediately provide police protection and enhanced security to banks across Goa.

“Goa deserves peace, not fear. Our people deserve confidence, not anxiety. Let us safeguard our state together. The time has come to act with unity, courage and resolute determination,” Prabhav Naik concluded.
