goaplusnewsPanaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Union Minister Shirpad Y Naik jointly inaugurated ‘The Chief Minister’s Financial Assistance for Refilling of LPG Cylinders Scheme’ in Panaji on Friday.
During the launch event, Chief Minister Sawant announced, “While Prime Minister Modi had previously announced a Rs 200 subsidy for LPG cylinders, the Goa government has taken a remarkable step forward by providing an additional Rs 275 per month to AAY Ration Card holders. With over 11,000 people holding AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana) Ration Cards, they will now receive a total subsidy of Rs 475.”
He added, “As a special Raksha Bandhan gift, Prime Minister Modi had announced the initial Rs 200 subsidy, and we have promptly commenced the distribution of this subsidy from that very day.”
Chief Minister Sawant continued, saying, “In addition to the Prime Minister’s initiative, we were inspired to further support the AAY Ration Card holders by announcing an additional Rs 275 subsidy. Today, in the presence of Union Minister Shirpad Y Naik, Minister Ravi Naik, and other dignitaries, we are distributing the sanction letters for this subsidy, ensuring that a total subsidy of Rs 475 reaches these beneficiaries.”
The ‘Antyodaya Anna Yojana’ (AAY) is designed to assist the most economically disadvantaged families in the state.
