Margao – It is shocking to know that Ravindra Bhavan, Margao has invited 3 out of 4 Singers from Maharashtra for the Musical Concert organised on Womens Day. I strongly condemn the act and demand that Goan Artists should be given an opportunity to perform, stated Congress Leader & Zilla Panchayat Member Michelle Rebello.

Reacting to the annoucement made by the Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Rajendra Talak, Congress Leader Michelle Rebelo has charged that Goans are not given an opportunity to perform because BJP cant fix commission deals with them.

Womens Day function will have performances of Sadhana Sargam, Vaishali Samant and Anandi Joshi. All these singers are from Maharashtra. Why Goan Nightingale Lorna or Hema Sardessai not invited? Why other talented Goan Singers not given an opportunity? questioned Michelle Rebelo.

Ravindra Bhavan, Margao is for entire Salcete Taluka. How can Rajendra Talak be selective in giving opportunities to Tiatrs which are recommended by three MLAs whose Constituencies come under Margao Municipal Area? questioned Michelle Rebelo.

Ravindra Bhavan, Margao has become a Political Rehabilitation Centre of BJP Functionaries. Members appointed on the Executive Committee have no knowledge of Art and Culture. We demand that Government must reveal their credentials with respect to Art & Culture, stated Michelle Rebello.

Chairman of Ravindra Bhavan Rajendra Talak is associated with a Private Institution which takes Music & Dance Classes. There is direct conflict of interest and hence Music, Dance and Theatre Classes are not started at Ravindra Bhavan, said Michelle Rebelo.

We demand that Government must start the Music, Dance and Theatre Training Classes for Children and Youths from April onwards, failing which we will launch strong agitation, warned Michelle Rebelo.
