Panaji: Archit Naik, President of the Goa Pradesh Youth Congress, has strongly criticised the BJP for allegedly attempting to shift blame onto Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Youth Congress workers following what he described as “complete chaos and mismanagement” at the recent AI Summit in Delhi.

In a press statement, Naik said the summit, which was projected as a major global event, instead exposed serious administrative lapses, traffic disruptions, logistical confusion, withdrawal of key delegates, and international media criticism that, according to him, dented India’s credibility. He accused the BJP of resorting to political scapegoating instead of accepting responsibility for the shortcomings.

Naik condemned what he termed as attempts to malign peaceful protestors and misuse state machinery to suppress democratic dissent. He stated that protest is a constitutional right and said branding peaceful demonstrations as the cause of administrative failure reflects insecurity and ineffective governance.

Referring to Goa, Naik criticised the BJP’s protest outside Congress House, calling it a diversionary tactic. He said that while residents in areas such as Mirabag, St. Andre, Cuncolim and other parts of the state are raising pressing local issues, the ruling party is focusing on “theatrics over accountability.”

Naik further alleged that the BJP government has failed to address unemployment and job creation, stating that Goan youth continue to face shrinking opportunities, contractual insecurity, and economic stagnation. He added that instead of tackling these challenges, the government is attempting to divert attention from its shortcomings.

The Goa Pradesh Youth Congress, he said, remains committed to defending democratic values, protecting the right to peaceful protest, and holding the government accountable.
