Panaji | October 14, 2025:
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has taken credit for pushing the state government into action on Goa’s deteriorating road conditions, following the issuance of more than 40 tenders for road repairs. The move comes in the wake of AAP’s statewide #BJPCheBurak campaign, during which over one lakh Goans submitted letters demanding immediate road repairs.
Addressing a press conference in Panaji, AAP Organisation Secretary Shrikrishna Parab and AAP Vice President Chetan Kamat said that the BJP-led government acted only after being cornered by public outrage and AAP’s campaign.
“This is a shameless and incompetent government,” Parab said. “For months, Goans have been risking their lives on dangerous, pothole-filled roads. It was only after one lakh Goans raised their voices through our campaign that the government finally woke up and issued 40-plus tenders.”
He further criticised the government’s lack of planning, adding, “They floated tenders but forgot that the hot-mix plants required for road repairs aren’t even ready. This clearly shows their inefficiency. Goa has never witnessed such careless governance.”
AAP leader Chetan Kamat also hit out at the state administration for delaying repairs despite earlier assurances. “The Chief Minister had promised that roads would be repaired within 15 days. We are watching closely. If no results are visible within that time, AAP will once again take to the streets to ensure Goans get the roads they deserve,” he warned.
The party reiterated that it would continue to monitor the tendering and repair process to ensure accountability and transparency.
“AAP will not rest until every pothole is fixed and every rupee of public money is properly spent,” Parab asserted. “Goans deserve safe roads, not excuses
