goaplusnewsPanaji, Goa – The Goa State Election Commission has announced the bye elections for Ward No. V of Village Panchayat St. Estevam in Tiswadi Taluka, Ward No. VII of Village Panchayat Parcem in Pernem Taluka, and Ward No. II of Village Panchayat Dramapur Sirlim in Salcete Taluka. The elections will be held on 2nd July, 2023 (Sunday) from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The District Collectors of North Goa and South Goa have been appointed as the District Election Officers, while the Mamlatdars of Tiswadi, Pernem, and Salcete Taluka will serve as the Returning Officers. Additionally, the Awal Karkuns in respective Mamlatdar Offices will act as Assistant Returning Officers.
To ensure the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, General Observers and Expenditure Observer have been appointed by the State Election Commission. Flying squads will also be deployed by the District Collectors of North Goa and South Goa.
The voting will be conducted by ballot, and the Model Code of Conduct will remain in force in the respective Village Panchayat Wards until the election process is completed.
The counting of votes will take place on 3rd July 2023, starting from 8.00 am, at the notified Counting centers.
The maximum expenditure limit for candidates per ward is set at Rs. 40,000/-
