It’s with deep sorrow that we report the unfortunate passing of a disabled student, who sustained severe injuries when he fell from the 2nd floor of the old SCERT building 15 days ago. This tragic incident occurred when the student’s mother took him to the Aadhar Card Correction Center, which was located on the 2nd floor of the same building. Contrary to any misconceptions, the incident did not occur within the Sanjay School building itself. While the student attended Sanjay School, there was no direct connection between the school and this incident.
Guru Pawaskar, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, expressed his condolences and clarified the situation. He highlighted that prior to this incident, concerns had been raised about the location of such centers in the old SCERT building. These concerns were regarding the inadequate facilities for senior citizens and especially disabled individuals. The tragic event underscores the need to reevaluate the placement of such centers to ensure accessibility and safety for all citizens.
Expressing profound sorrow over the incident, Guru Pawaskar, the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, remarked on the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the student’s passing.”
