Margao: In a major accident on the Western bypass road at Nuvem, two occupants of a speeding car lost their lives after colliding with a concrete pillar piece intended for bridge construction.
The incident occurred around 6:30 am on Saturday. The driver, Aryan Prasher, a 23-year-old from Jammu and Kashmir, survived with serious injuries, while the other two occupants, Rudra Gosain (29) from Faridabad, Haryana, and Arunveer Singh (26) from Saidupur-Hoshiarpur, Punjab, were killed.
The car, bearing registration number HR 51 BT 4118, was driven in a rash and negligent manner, leading to the fatal crash near the Woods Restaurant, Gorvotee, Nuvem. Aryan Prasher has been booked under Sections 279, 336, 337, and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code.
The Maina-Curtorim police are conducting an investigation into the accident.
