Margao, September 27: The Goa Forward Party (GFP) Navelim Block has launched an intensive campaign strategy for the upcoming Rumdamol Zilla Panchayat elections, covering 27 wards. Party leaders, workers, and supporters gathered at a major meeting today to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and take forward GFP Chief Vijai Sardesai’s vision of people-centric politics.
Addressing the gathering, Navelim Block President Anthony Colaco pledged his commitment to the residents of Davorlim ZP, particularly farmers and the ST community. “I will always stand with the poor and the farmers. My doors are open to the people, and together we will take Vijai Sardesai’s vision to every household,” he said.
GFP General Secretary (Org) Durgadas Kamat laid out the organisational roadmap, stressing the need to counter BJP’s “divide and rule” politics. “Each booth will have at least 10 dedicated members who must approach voters as if they themselves are Vijai Sardesai. Booth committees will be finalised within 15 days, followed by a workers’ convention to be addressed by our Party President,” he announced.
Senior Leader Mohandas Lolienkar accused the BJP of creating divisions and weakening Goa. “The BJP has finished Goa by dividing its people. The time has come to free not just Navelim, but the entire state from their clutches,” he declared.
Councillor and ST Leader Nimesia Faleiro highlighted Sardesai’s work for ST farmers, women, and youth in Fatorda, urging Navelkars to draw inspiration from his leadership.
State Executive Member Kadar Shah noted that BJP’s repeated attempts to capture the Rumdamol Panchayat had failed due to unity among Panch members. He urged workers to continue their determined efforts.
Former Councillor Juse Fernandes also called for unity, discipline, and commitment to ensure electoral success.
The meeting ended with a collective resolve to step up door-to-door campaigns, enhance voter engagement, and carry forward Vijai Sardesai’s vision of development, good governance, and regional pride at the grassroots level.
