anjim, 29th February 2024: The Design Community of Goa (CCG), a community of designers hosting its 3rd Monthly Meet-up called “First Fridays” in partnership with the SITPC,, the Department of IT, and Electronics and Communications and ADI Goa on 1st March 2024 at the Ground floor of the Mayfair Hotel, near the Mahalaxmi Temple, Panjim.
First Fridays promises to serve as a platform for the Creative Community of Goa to come together in a stimulating environment to promote discussion, encourage collaboration, and foster an atmosphere of innovative thinking.
The central focus of this meet-up will be to engage people in Design Policy discussions. These discussions aim to explore potential avenues for shaping the future of the community in Goa by formulating a design policy for Goa. This is an excellent opportunity for participants to contribute their unique perspectives and ideas towards a forward-thinking design policy that can positively impact Goa’s creative landscape.
As part of the meet-up’s agenda, a demonstration of the new Creative Community of Goa (CCG) website will also be presented. This is WIP and will provide participants with an exclusive opportunity to give feedback and familiarise themselves with the platform and facilitate enhanced networking and collaboration among the region’s creatives. The CCG website is envisioned as a key resource to nurture growth and enable collaboration within Goa’s creative community.
The 2nd edition of First Fridays emphasized the importance of incorporating design education into the school curriculum, ongoing initiatives requirements, establishment of libraries or labs dedicated to the design community, outreach to the tribal community to integrate them into the design space, and various policy-related topics. As the Creative Community, we invite everyone to join us in this collective endeavor to establish Goa as the Design Capital of India.
