Over 3000k violations booked in Goa in a week

Panaji: As many as 750 violators have been booked in a joint traffic enforcement drive launched in North Goa. The total violations are registered in the last three days wherein maximum penalties are for riding without a helmet, driving without a seat belt and tinted glass.

On the third day of the ongoing drive today, the Traffic and North Goa police booked 225 violations in Panaji. On Thursday, the drive at Pernem saw 100 violators of whom 35 were foreign nationals. Mapusa has so far recorded over 450 violations.

In South Goa, 2537 violations were booked in one week wherein a maximum of 291 are in Canacona which is not only the bordering taluka but also has an increasing presence of tourists.

The Goa Police have revived the drive in the wake of increase in accidents and violations on the road.
