Goa, 25th March, 2025 – Manipal Hospital Goa, in collaboration with the River Navigation Department, Mohan Foundation, and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Goa, organized a special river cruise from Panjim to Old Goa. This thoughtful initiative aimed to provide dialysis patients with a refreshing escape from their routine while uplifting their spirits and enhancing their overall well-being.
The scenic cruise along the Mandovi River offered participants a serene and rejuvenating experience, allowing them to soak in the breathtaking beauty of Goa’s waterways. More than just a leisure trip, the journey fostered a sense of togetherness and community, allowing patients to connect with others who share similar experiences. The soothing environment, coupled with warm camaraderie, contributed to their emotional and mental well-being. Healthcare professionals present at the event also engaged with the participants, offering guidance and support, reinforcing the importance of holistic care that goes beyond medical treatment. Additionally, a fun interactive session was organized, filled with light-hearted games and activities, bringing smiles and fostering a sense of camaraderie among the participants. This gathering provided a platform for meaningful conversations, enabling patients to share their stories, experiences, and encouragement.
After the cruise, the participants assembled at the Pastoral Institute, St. Pius, hosted by Fr. Candido Fernandes, Director of the Pastoral Institute St. Pius X, where they enjoyed a hearty breakfast arranged by the Mohan Foundation. Additionally, the event saw the participation of two cycling groups – the cycling group of Panjim and the cycling group of Vasco.
