Following the unprecedented success of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Punjab elections, former Industry Minister and Maharashtra State Election Observer Mahadev Naik and former Delhi MLA and Maharashtra State incharge Deepak Singhla and other National Executive members visited the Mumbai Metropolitan Division ahead of the BMC elections. The national executive members visited Mira Bhayandar, Vasai, Kalyan-Dombivali, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Panvel, Raigad etc. in the Mumbai Metropolitan Division for three days. The new National Executive Member and Secretary of State Dhananjay Shinde was welcomed in the presence of a large gathering by Team AAP Navi Mumbai at Koparkhairane. The meeting has gained significance in light of the upcoming municipal elections in Maharashtra. Lawyers, chartered accountants, teachers, engineers, rickshaw drivers, and hundreds of Congress karyakartas from the six Municipal Corporations joined the AAP. Maharashtra State Election Observer Mahadev Naik said, “Karyakartas should be prepared to run in the municipal elections. Karyakartas must remember that we are fighting against the established parties. There are signs that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is gaining traction in the country”. Maharashtra State incharge Deepak Singhla said, “The AAP has proven time and again that it keeps its promises. A good example of this is the Punjab government’s decision to make 300 units of electricity free within a month of the formation of the government in Punjab. Today, the AAP has 156 MLAs in the country, propelling the party to third place. Singhal urged workers to get involved in getting the AAP elected”.
