Israeli National Arrested by Mandrem Police with Drugs Worth Rs. 9 Lakh in Major Narcotics Raid

In a significant operation, Mandrem Police have detained an Israeli national following a major drug seizure.

Acting on a tip-off, Mandrem Police, led by Superintendent Akshat Kaushal, received information about the arrival of an Israeli individual intending to sell drugs, including narcotic mushrooms, in Harambol on March 23, 2024, during the evening hours. Consequently, a raiding team was promptly assembled under the supervision of SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi and PI Mandrem Sheriff Jacques.

Upon the suspect’s arrival at the designated location, he was apprehended, and a search revealed his possession of 136 grams of dried mushrooms containing the narcotic substance Psylocybin, 132 grams of narcotic substance Psylocibin powder, and 140 grams of Ganja.

The combined value of the seized drugs is estimated at Rs. 8,72,000 in the international market.

The arrested individual has been identified as Mr. Naar Yaakov, 27 years old, currently residing in Harambol and hailing from Israel.

An FIR has been filed under sections 20(b)(ii)(A) and 22 (c) of the NDPS Act.

The raiding team, supervised by SP North Akshat Kaushal and SDPO Pernem Jivba Dalvi, comprised PSI Pravin Simepurushkar and constables Sarvesh Mandrekar, Saish Pokle, Vijay Gaikwad, Rajesh Shirgaonkar, and Babaji Pednekar.

Further investigations are underway to trace the origin of the seized drugs. The accused has been remanded to police custody for 7 days
