INDIA’S MILITARY HAS A LONG HISTORY OF BRAVERY: GOVERNOR

Governor Shri. PS Sreedharan Pillai recognized and honored the achievements of NCC Cadets of Goa who participated in the Republic Day Camp 2025 held at New Delhi.

The Governor Shri. PS Sreedharan Pillai commended the National Cadet Corps (NCC) from Karnataka and Goa Directorate for their outstanding performance and said India’s military has a long history of bravery and sacrifice, and they continue to play a vital role in protecting the country’s sovereignty and integrity.

The Governor further highlighted the achievement of the Directorate and cadets in securing the prestigious Prime Minister’s Banner for 2024-25 in the Republic Day Banner Competition.

Speaking at a felicitation ceremony the Governor emphasised the vital role of the NCC in shaping disciplined, motivated, and leadership-driven youth. “The NCC aims to create a group of organized, trained, and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life,” the Governor remarked.

PO Cadet Tuhin Saha (Shree Damodar college, Madgaon), PO Cadet Shriditya Sawant (GS Amonkar Vidya Mandir, Mapusa) from 1 Goa Naval Unit and SUO Vedant Chandekar (St Xavier’s College, Mapusa) from 1 Goa Bn Panjim participated in 2024-25 RD parade from Goa State.

Certificates were presented to participating NCC Cadets at the hands of the Governor.

Earlier, S. B. Arun Kumar, Deputy Director General welcomed the guests and informed that NCC Directorate Karnataka and Goa has won the PM Banner for the year 24-25.
