Panaji: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane visited the premises of Goa Dental College, accompanied by Dean Dr. Ida. During the inspection, several patients raised complaints about two nurses, Soniya Kerkar and Nikita Naik, who have been suspended with immediate effect. Minister Rane sternly warned the staff and emphasized that patient care is of utmost importance.
Minister Rane commended the Dean and her team of doctors and staff for their commendable work at the Dental College. He expressed his focus on improving the infrastructure, including the establishment of a 24/7 emergency setup. Plans are also underway to relocate the entire facility to a new dental college building with enhanced facilities.
Additionally, Minister Rane mentioned his intention to discuss certain shortcomings he discovered during the inspection with Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. By seeking the CM’s advice, they aim to ensure that the dental college delivers the best possible care to the people of Goa.
