Goa Congress President Amit Patkar took a firm stand against the illegal dumping of garbage in a residential area of Curchorem. Leading a delegation, Patkar met with the Waste Treatment Minister on Friday, issuing an ultimatum to halt the illegal dumping by the coming Wednesday. The government, caught off guard in the midst of their “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” mission, responded swiftly by directing authorities to take immediate action.
The area has since been cleaned, with police deployed and CCTV surveillance installed. Local residents have expressed their gratitude to Amit Patkar and his team for resolving the issue in just two days. The Congress Party has assured continued vigilance to ensure no further illegal dumping, storage, or segregation of garbage occurs in residential or undesignated areas of Curchorem.
