Panaji – Once again ESG has announced a new section “Goan Director’s Cut” for IFFI-2024. Will Chief Minister clarify if the said section is in Official Category & all films screened will get benefits under Goa Film Finance Scheme or is it another attempt to fool Goan Filmmakers? questioned Congress Media Cell Chairman Amarnath Panjikar.
Entertainment Society of Goa has also announced “Goan Film Section” for Konkani and Marathi Feature and Non-Feature Films of Goan Filmmakers. What benefits these films will get needs to be explained by the Government, said Amarnath Panjikar.
Just screening films in IFFI venues do not give any benefit to the Filmmakers. Government must show the films in Offical Section which will then give recognition to the particular films of screening in International Film Festivals, said Amarnath Panjikar.
BJP Government after coming to power has converted the mega festival into International Fraud Festival of India. Government woke up after my press conference on IFFI where i proved statements of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on IFFI completely false and misleading, claimed Amarnath Panjikar.
After i raised the issue, Entertainment Society of Goa has now invited applications for Goa Film Finance Scheme. When will you clear the pending disburesement of funds for films produced by Goan Filmmakers way back in 2018? asked Amarnath Panjikar.
BJP Government has also not organised Goa State Film Festival for last many years. Government is all out to duscourage local Filmmakers. We demand the State Film Festival must be oragnised immediately, said Amarnath Panjikar.
