Panaji: In a program held today on 30th May at Centre for the study of philosophy and humanities (CSPH). The program director of the Master’s in Portuguese course at Goa University, Prof. Dhruv Usgaonkar said, Goa University is the only one of two universities in Asia that offer B.A. as well as M.A.in Portuguese language.
“Goan students should get a mastery over the language since it has huge upside potential in today’s professional landscape not only in Goa and India but also Portuguese speaking countries like Brazil, Portugal, Angola etc.” He added.
The introduction of the programme entitled “Portuguese: Opening the doors of career opportunities” was done by Adv Prasenjeet Dhage while the vote of thanks was proposed by Asif Hussain who said, “the students should carryforward the newfold understanding and motivation to explore the vast career opportunities that Portuguese language can unlock” The event was attended by Goa University professors and students from across Goa.
