Goa Forward Party Demands Accountability in Kala Academy Renovation Scam

Published

on

Panaji: The Goa Forward Party (GFP), under the leadership of its President Vijai Sardesai, has strongly reacted to Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant’s recent acknowledgment of the termination and blacklisting of the contractor involved in the Kala Academy renovation. GFP stated that this admission validates its longstanding campaign exposing irregularities, poor-quality work, and misuse of public funds in the project.

Highlighting its consistent efforts—through Assembly debates, public platforms, and legal interventions—GFP emphasized that the blacklisting of the contractor raises deeper questions of accountability and governance.

The party has now sought answers to key questions:

  1. Why was a contractor with a record of poor work ethics awarded the project in the first place?
  2. Who are the officials and decision-makers responsible for approving such tenders?
  3. What steps will be taken to ensure taxpayers are not burdened further due to such gross mismanagement?

Calling the Kala Academy a cultural landmark of Goa, the party condemned the cycle of negligence and corruption, stating that this is not an isolated case but indicative of a systemic governance failure. GFP has demanded a full investigation into the tendering and execution process and urged strict action against all those found responsible.

The post was concluded with hashtags: #KalaAcademyScam #AccountabilityFirst #GoaForward.
